Why Chemistry?

Chemistry is a broad field that can lead to many different career paths, including education, research and development, forensics, pharmacy, pharmacology, medicine, polymers and plastics, and biochemistry. For example, students interested in the health professions often major in chemistry. Health professions include medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry and more.
