Fire Science
Degree program at Bay College

Why Fire Science?
A Fire Science degree is designed to prepare graduates for careers in the area of fire protection, prevention, investigation, education, fire equipment service/supply and emergency planning.
Why Bay College?
The Fire Science program at Bay College does not offer a Fire Science degree, but does offer an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice which is a field closely related to entry-level positions in government agencies like fire departments and public safety departments (which include both law enforcement and fire fighting). Some students who choose to go on to a four year program will use Criminal Justice as their minor when obtaining a four-year degree in Fire Science. In addition, Bay College also offers a Paramedic Program which also closely related to firefighting as many governmental agencies combine medical and fire services. In addition, Bay College does offer the course FRST-100 Wildland and Rural Fire Control which acquaints the student with wildland and rural fire control problems and methods. Wildland fire behavior and basic firefighter training are covered.
