Wendy B. Middaugh
Board of Trustees

Dr. Wendy Bovard Middaugh is the newest member of the Board of Trustees. She is a local business owner in Delta County, the co-owner of the Northern Sun Winery and Vineyards in Bark River, MI. Wendy has worked as a Protection and Psychosocial Support Specialist in emergency, so she brings cross-cultural experience from around the globe. Dr. Wendy, as she is called in most of the world, developed Community Programs that give “voice to the voiceless” and promote protection and education for women and children in war torn areas of Rwanda, Northern Uganda, South Sudan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Kurdistan, the Philippines, and Haiti. As a humanitarian she responded to the needs of thousands of children following the Nairobi Bomb Blast by working with the US Embassy and the International Federation of Red Cross. As the “Friend of the African Child”, she worked with governments and international agencies to ensure children living with HIV/AIDS in Africa have a fighting chance; and co-authored a multi-media educational series that provides practical training to front-line caregivers all over Africa. Wendy lives with her wife, Melissa, and enjoys working in their Bark River vineyard and spending time with their growing number of grandchildren.
